About us

Our Group is relatively new and attracts young people from a wide area. We normally meet in the Village Hall but for a large part of the year we use our field which allows us to indulge in outdoor games.

About Us

Stithians Scout Group started in 1973 with a Cub Pack which ran until 2000 when a lack of new leaders forced its closure. Briefly during the early 1980s a Scout Troop was run, but closed when the leader moved away.

After 5 months of hard work Stithians Scout Group was reformed in June 2008. The first section to be formed was the youngest, the Beaver Colony.

At the start of 2009 planning started in earnest for the next section, as many of the Beavers had now reached 8 years old. With the recruitment of more leaders we were able to open the Stithians Cub Pack in April 2009.

Another year, another section. April 2010 saw the start of Stithians Scout Troop and with the subsequent growth of the Group and the coming of age of the sections we were able start the Explorer Scout Unit in 2011.

Since then we have run as Group with around 70 to 80 members and draw our young people not only from Stithians but also from the surrounding area.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
